Presidents Report
I am pleased to report that the building programme is now underway and I assure all patrons that every effort will be made to ensure that you will not be inconvenienced. By early/mid 2009 you will have a new sports bar, sports area and a new stage area with seating for 200.
Our Club is continuing to trade well which is very pleasing as many Clubs are not so lucky and are feeling the effects of the higher petrol prices and rising interest rates.
Our Membership is growing rapidly, we now have almost 20,000 Members. I would like to say ‘welcome’ to all new Members and hope that you enjoy your visits to this warm and friendly Club.
The Club will be celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary during October so be sure to come and visit during this period.
A big thank-you to John Burgess and Bill North for the great work they put in to ensure that VP Day was a great success.
In closing, I would like to offer my condolences to the families of those who have lost loved ones during the last 3 months.

Sub Branch Presidents Report
Welcome to another Sub Branch Report – they just seem to come around so quickly.
The future of the RSL is very positive with many new initiatives from Anzac House giving a boost for the core values we support and believe the future veteran community will benefit from.
More use of the internet, expanded services and pension officer training, advocacy and men’s health are some examples of outcomes from the State RSL Congress held in May.
From the Office – things have been fairly quiet on the Head Office front. We now have a computer and printer installed in the Office enabling us to keep up to date with information from Head Office and Government Departments and also allows us to communicate with Head Office and other Sub Branches.
One of our Members, Doug Hunt, is now President of the Far Western District, something we all should be proud of, one of our own leading the decision-making in our District. We now have the memorabilia stored by Bill Chippendale at his house back at the RSL and the Club has kindly given us more area to store such items. Thanks to Bill for storing our gear for so long,
John Burgess has been successful in finding some of our old honour boards that we thought were lost in demolition of the old Club. We have found the board listing those men who left Seven Hills to participate in World War 1 and hopefully a couple of other boards. Thanks to John and Joe Bayssari.
Finally please come along to our monthly meetings. A strong meeting is a strong Sub Branch. We provide information and discuss Sub Branch issues only at our monthly meetings.
