Local Rules
To be used in conjunction with the Rules of Golf
USE OF COURSE
All members & Associates must report to the Pro-Shop before teeing off or using the practice area & obtain a course ticket. Children under the ages of 7 years are not permitted on the course, unless sanction by golf committee.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE
Stroke Play – 2 strokes
Match Play – Loss of hole
OUT OF BOUNDS
(OOB) Areas outside of the course boundaries – Clubhouse – Clubhouse gardens, defined car parks, greenkeeper’s facility – 7th hole while playing 8th hole – All areas marked with black topped white pegs.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
Protective screens – Power holes – Irrigation satellite control boxes – Water level markers – Course marking stakes – Sprinkler heads – Construction roads and formed pathways – Soil bins and ball washers all staked trees – Distance markers. Rule 24.2 applies.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS
If a sprinkler head intervenes with the PLAYERS LINE OF PLAY relief may be obtained, without penalty provided that the sprinkler head is within 2 metres of the putting green and the ball is within 2 metres of the sprinkler head.
POWER LINES
A ball striking a power line traversing a hole shall be replayed from the same spot without penalty.
COURSE MARKING / DROP ZONES
White stake/line – GUR, white pegs with black tops – out of bounds. Garden area 15th hole.
PREFERRED LIES
Ball position must be marked before ball is moved. Penalty 1 stroke.
PRACTICE AREA REAR 9th GREEN
The area as defined by blue line may be treated as ground under repair.
ELECTRICAL STORM WARNING
A warning siren will be sounded and all play must cease immediately.
BALL FISHING
BALL Hunting & Collecting (FISHING) from Fox Hills Golf Course’s Creek and Dams is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN

Failure to Comply may result in Disciplinary action
DRESS RULES
Fox Hills Golf Club has a policy regarding standard of dress, applicable to all persons using the Club, whether they are members of Fox Hills or otherwise, for the purpose of playing golf or acting as officials or caddies.
Ladies and Gentlemen shall be suitably attired on the Course. A smart and neat standard of casual wear is expected.
MEN
Acceptable
- Collared sports shirt
- Tailored shorts
- Cargo shorts
- Long trousers
- Golf shoes with soft spikes
- Clean and tidy sports shoes
- Sport socks (predominately white)
Not Acceptable
- Shirts without collars
- Singlets or sleeveless shirts
- Flannelette shirts
- Industrial shirts or other clothing
- Board shorts
- Football shorts
- Metal spikes
- Sports socks (not predominately white)
WOMEN
Acceptable
- Collared sports shirt
- Sports shorts, skirts or skorts
- Tailored pants
- Culottes
- Golf shoes with soft spikes
- Clean and tidy sports shoes
Not Acceptable
- Singlets
- Shorts, skirts or skorts that show midriff
- Metal spikes
